About the Fable Collection Animals

The Fable Collection is a line of crochet animal patterns to inspire imaginative play. With interchangeable outfits, color changes, and accessories, each one can be customized however you like.

The Fable animals come in two different versions – the original doll-shaped body and the new Fable Babies! You can get the FREE mod to make a Finn Bear Fable Baby using your original pattern HERE.

You can also get a Fable Baby MOD pattern in my shop that is a companion to your original Fable animals, it includes lots of great extras like the mermaid tail, the Christmas Mouse in the House and more!

ABBREVIATIONS:

(US Crochet Terms)

ch – chain

dc – double crochet

FO – fasten off

hdc – half double crochet

sc – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st(s) – stitch(es)

NOTES:

  • Headband process photos are shown on the Baby Beth Bunny pattern. This headband will fit any of the original or baby Fable Collection animals.
  • This headband pattern is worked in rows.
  • It’s recommended to use yarn over/yarn over (YO/YO) method.
  • You can use a different weight of yarn for this pattern, adjusting to the appropriate hook size; however the size of the finished product will be different.

MAIN PIECE

  • Use YO/YO method
  • Keep starting chain relaxed

1: Ch 46

2: (Check sizing around your Fable animal’s head, there should be about 2″ beyond full circle around the head. Add or remove chains if needed, also adjusting the number of sl sts on step 3.)

3: Starting in the 3rd ch from your hook and into back bumps, work 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 36 sl st, 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 1 hdc, sl st into the same st.

KNOTTING THE HEADBAND

Cross the ends of the headband over, and tie a snug knot to secure.
