Fable Collection Pumpkin Outfit Mod

This little Pumpkin Outfit is the perfect crochet fall accessory for your Fable animals. It’s a seasonal twist on the original Fable Collection Outfits – adding a round pumpkin shape, and topped with a little pumpkin stem on the hat.

You’ll need either the Finn Bear bee costume or the Farm Outfits pattern as the base, and this mod will transform it into the perfect fall/halloween outfit for your Fable friends!

The Fable Collection is a line of crochet animal patterns to inspire imaginative play. With interchangeable outfits, color changes, and accessories, each one can be customized however you like.

The Fable Collection friend shown in these photos is the Tilly Cat pattern, made in Bernat Mystical (Cinder) for a softer “black cat” look. Look at those green eyes!

COLORS USED IN PHOTOS:

Pumpkin Outfit – Premier Basix Chenille Brights in the colors Rust and Caramel. Tilly Cat – Bernat Blanket Yarn Mystical in the color Cinder.

ch – chain

dec – decrease

inc – increase (2 sc in the same st)

sc – single crochet

sl st – slip stitch

st(s) – stitch(es)

INSTRUCTIONS:

BODY: Follow the BODY portion of the pattern as written from rows 1-3. Then as follows:

Row 4: 1 sc, (inc, 2 sc) x 5, inc, 1 sc (24)

Section 2 from the pattern – begin working in the ROUND.

Round 1: (2 sc, inc) x 8 (32)

Rounds 2-3: sc around (32)

Round 4: (2 sc, dec) x 8 (24)

Round 5: (6 sc, dec) x 3 (21)

Complete the BODY portion of the pattern as written.

STEM: Complete the HAT portion of the pattern as written, the STEM is added last.

1: With a slip knot on your hook in stem color, insert hook into the top of the hat, slightly closer to the right ear hole when facing the hat.

2: YO to complete a sl st, then ch 4.

3: Starting in the 2nd ch from you hook, sc into back bumps (3), sl st into the top of the hat, into the st closer to the left hear hole. FO and weave in ends.
