Free Crochet Cookie Pattern for Brie Mouse

This crochet chocolate chip cookie pattern is a free, beginner-friendly project that’s quick to make and irresistibly cute. Designed to pair perfectly with the Brie Mouse crochet pattern from the Fable Collection, this cookie makes an adorable addition for imaginative play and market tables. Together, Brie Mouse and her little cookie feel straight out of a storybook!

Two Cookie Sizes Included

This pattern comes with two sizes, including the regular chocolate chip cookie and a mini pocket cookie! The smaller cookie, made with Premier Basix Chenille, fits perfectly in the pocket of the Beth Bunny overalls.

Yarn and Hook Sizes

Yarn and hook sizes make a huge difference to your finished crochet pieces. (See photos below).

Cookie A is made with super bulky yarn (Premier Basix Chenille Brights) using a 7mm hook.

Cookie B is made using a different super bulky yarn (Premier Basix Parfait) using a 4.5mm hook. Although this yarn is still considered a super bulky weight, it has a finer feel and does well with a smaller hook in my opinion.

Cookie C (pocket cookie) is also made with the Premier Basix Parfait but only with rounds 1-2 of the pattern.

Mix-and-Match Fun with the Fable Collection

In this post, you’ll see Brie Mouse, who normally wears a ballet tutu, dressed in the overalls from the Beth Bunny crochet pattern. The Fable Collection was created so each animal’s clothing and accessories can mix and match across the series.

The Fable Collection is a line of crochet animal patterns to inspire imaginative play. With interchangeable outfits, color changes, and accessories, each one can be customized however you like.

ADDING CHOCOLATE CHIPS:

The chocolate chips are added to the cookie with a strand of yarn and needle. There are 5 chips around the outside (on round 3) and one in the middle.

Two crochet cookies with scissors and a yellow crochet hook.

1: Thread a 44″ strand of yarn (chocolate chip color) onto a yarn needle, doubling the strand.

2: Insert the needle through the back of the cookie and bring it out around the 2nd stitch of round 3, leaving a short tail at the back.

3: Insert the needle back into the front near the same spot and pull through gently to form a small bump (the chocolate chip).

4: From the back, slide the needle under about 3 stitches on round 3 and bring it out at the front again.

5: Repeat steps 3–4 to make 5 chips around the outer edge. Then using the same method, bring the needle through the center to add one last chip.
