Cozy Fable Scarf
I’m so excited to share this addition to the Fable Collection lineup of goodies – the coziest little crochet scarf for your Fable friends!
If you aren’t familiar with the animals in the Fable Collection, they are the sweetest series of crochet patterns with a classic heirloom look, yet modern feel and a perfect fit for little hands. All of the animals have interchangeable clothing and accessories.
You can find the Fable Collection series of patterns HERE or on Etsy HERE.

This adorable scarf pattern is courtesy of Julie from @jewelandhookcrochet. Shortly after I released my Wilder Fox pattern last fall, I spotted the sweetest photo of him wearing a tiny crocheted scarf—and I instantly fell in love! I reached out to Julie to see if she’d be willing to share more on the blog, and she was all in. I’m so excited to feature her Wilder Fox and his perfect little scarf, and I hope it enjoy making it you as much as I did!
You can find the Wilder Fox pattern HERE or on Etsy HERE.

NOTES:
The half double crochet slip stitches worked into the back loops give this scarf a gorgeous knit-look!
I worked my way through this scarf as per Julie’s pattern and photographed steps to help you along your way. Enjoy!
SUPPLIES:
- Size 4 worsted weight yarn in any color (photos in Lion Brand Color Theory in Tourmaline).
- 5.5 mm crochet hook
- Scissors
ABBREVIATIONS:
HDC SL ST – Half Double Crochet Slip Stitch
BLO – Back Loop Only
INSTRUCTIONS:
HDC SL ST: Yarn over, insert your hook (in the BLO for this pattern), yarn over, draw yarn through stitch and immediately through the two loops on your hook to complete.
The Whisker’s Wisp Scarf PATTERN:
Chain 61
Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, HDC SL ST across into back bumps. Chain 1, turn. (60)
Rows 2-6: HDC SL ST in the BLO across (5 rows). Chain 1, turn. Fasten off, and leave tail for weaving in later.
You can do 6 or 7 rows depending on the desired width of your scarf.
Tassels:
Wrap your yarn around something that is at least three inches wide. You’ll need 15 loops for 5 tassels on one end of the scarf (3 strands each).
Using your hook, pull the middle of three strands through the end of the scarf where you want your first tassel. Next, pull the ends of the strands through your loop to knot. Pull tight to secure. Weave your scarf ends into the corner tassels to hide. Repeat for the other end of the scarf.
Trim your tassel ends evenly for a finished look.
Your scarf is finished!
I had so much fun making this little scarf – it’s the perfect addition to any of the animals in the Fable Collection. Here is Wilder Fox and Fora Fawn all warm and cozy in their little scarves!
