ASSEMBLING HATS:

Once the hats are cut (don’t forget to notch the tip), you’ll gently curl them over to shape into a hat. Add a little glue along one of the straight edges and hold tight for a minute to secure. I found holding scissors or a pen inside against the seam and rubbing another pen or crochet hook along the outside helped seal the glue well.

ADDING THE TIES:

To add ties, I used a 1/4″ punch to place holes on opposite sides of the hat, with the seam at the back. A single strand of yarn, string or ribbon can be threaded through both sides. I used approximately 16″ for my Fable animals.

I placed my hat ties behind Brie Mouse’s ears and tied them under her chin. I found they were better tied behind Marley Dog’s head because of his ear shape (shown below on the right).

ATTACHING THE TAGS:

The tags can be attached by inserting your crochet hook into any stitch, yarn over with yarn or ribbon and pull through. Tag can be attached and tied with a bow.

The Marley Dog and Tilly Cat patterns are also part of the Fable Collection and can be found on my website and on Etsy. They both come with a super cozy robe and sleep mask!
